ENGRAVED COLT BREVETE DUMOULIN & CO. MODEL 1851 NAVY REVOLVER. Serial numbered "48XXX". 5 1/2" octagonal barrel with CAP SYSTEM MADE BY DUMOULIN & CO." with crossed keys on either side. Frame marked 'CAL 35" and "patent system" on left frame as well as crown proofs. Foral engraving on barrel and frame. Barrel also has stars and circle embellishments. Traces of original nickel plating on triggerguard and frame. Original one piece walnut grips. Dark original patina overall. Working order. Cylinder with Belgian proofs but no cylinder scene as was typical. One nipple missing. Couple of buggered screws. Possible Colt manufactured triggerguard.
