EXCELLENT SPRINGFIELD U.S. MODEL 1903 STAR GAUGE .30-06 CAL. RIFLE DATED 3-33. All original and extra nice condition. Serial number in the 1,361,xxx range and barrel stamped “S A/ORDNANCE BOMB/ 3-33”. Barrel stamped on the muzzle crown with the “STAR GAUGE” stamp. 99% original dark original parkerized finish. Stock and handguard with the original matching finish and with a visible cartouche and a crisp circled “P” proof to the rear of the trigger guard. Has seen only modest use and has a near mint, brilliant bore. One of the last of the true model 1903’s which were produced in very limited quantity during the 1930’s largely for special orders with many going to various National Guard and other military units with these Star Gauge 1903’s were intended for use by their marksmanship units.
