BROWN BESS FLINTLOCK MUSKET. .75 caliber with 42" barrel.100% original and complete with barrel Ordnance proofed and marked “59 REGT” for the 59th Regiment of Foot which was one of the most historic British regiments of the American Revolution as a result of the engagement at Battles of Lexington and Concord and at the Battle of Bunker Hill where they sustained severe losses. Excellent overall with all the original lock parts and even has the original swivels and ramrod. Lock with beautiful “CROWN/GR” and “CROWN/BROAD ARROW” Royal Ordnance acceptance stamp. Tail of the lock marked “TOWER”. Walnut stock with lovely original patina and good Government Storekeeper’s stamp on the right side of the butt stock. Ordnance sub-inspector’s stamp “JC” stamped to the rear of the side plate. Mellow brass mounts and excellent all original screws. Lock in working order and has a very good bore.
