Description:
Serial #49188, .455 Webley, 6 1/2" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This handsome revolver has matching numbers on the frame, cylinder, yoke, extractor, and barrel with the metal retaining 90-95% of the original blued finish that has faded lightly at the muzzle, along the projecting edges, and on the cylinder flutes. There is a turn-ring on the cylinder as well as some mild plum-brown freckling along the gripstraps. The trigger and hammer have most of their original bright color case-hardening with some miniscule hints of gray along the edges. The revolver is not commercially proofed but British military acceptance stamps are present on the right side of the frame and there is an unobtrusive import mark on the underside of the barrel. The checkered, diamond-center, S&W medallion grips are numbered to the gun on the interior and have light wear and surface blemishes, mostly around the butt, and light-moderate flattening of the points. The lock-up is tight and the mechanism functions flawlessly. This is a splendid British service S&W that has lots of original finish still remaining. FFL or C&R
