Description:
SN 3342 is a US Springfield Model 1869 Cadet Rifle. Caliber is 50-55. This scarce US martial rifle is one of only 3422 produced in 1871 and 1872. Barrel is the proper 29 5/8" with a very dark and pitted poor bore. Metal surfaces are mostly a rust patina with a few scattered specks of white paint. Stock has two cracks on the left side; both between the lock screws. Rifle has a .745" muzzle diameter, .88" wide triggerguard, barrel length of 29 5/8", stock length of 45 3/4" and an overall length of 49". Ramrod is flush with the muzzle and is also the proper length of 32 5/8". Hard to find, this one should make a nice addition to your collection. Condition good. ANTIQUE.
