Description:
Serial #W38426, 16 ga. (2 3/4”), 28” barrels with excellent, bright bores choked Modified and Improved Cylinder. This is a beautiful gun that has elegant engraved scrollwork borders and highlights framing four gold inlays: a quail in flight on the right side of the frame, flying partridge on the right, flying pheasant on the underside, and a woodcock on the exterior of the trigger guard bow. The metal retains 99.99% of the original lustrous blue finish with just a single negligible speck of mild brown freckling from storage on the top of the frame where the standing breech meets the matted rib on the right side. The gun is equipped with a gold, single-select trigger and has precise jeweled finish on the water table and breech faces. Both the checkered beavertail forend and pistol gripped buttstock are highly figured “A” grade walnut with only some faint hints of handling marks visible in the otherwise fabulous original semi-gloss finish. The gun has light cast-off, a generous and comfortable palm swell, drops of 1 1/2” and 2 3/4” respectively, and a 14 1/2” length of pull to an engraved skeleton buttplate with checkered wood center panel. A gold escutcheon is present on the belly and is engraved “GCR”. The gun is housed in its original, maroon baize-lined, brown leather traveling case with cloth cover along with the following accessories: nickel plated snap caps, nickel oil bottle, segmented wooden cleaning rod, leather case with rod tips and brush, CSM/Galazan marked silicone cloth, bundle of patch material, and case key. This is a practically new Special Order CSM Model 21 (7 lbs. 11 oz. in weight) that has all of the original accessories, looks absolutely stunning, and would cost around $30,000.00 to have built today.
