The .360 No. 2 was developed by Eley in 1905 and enjoyed moderate success but was eventually overtaken when Holland released the .375 H&H in 1912.  The .360 No. 2 with it's 320 grn. bullet delivered 3450 lbs. of energy whereas the .375 H&H flanged with it's 300 grn. bullet delivered slighly higher 3835 lbs. of energy.  The .360 No. 2 with it's large case capacity gives it an advantage over the .375 of lower pressure having only 14.7 tons vs. the .375's 18 tons.  John Taylor wrote the following on the .360 No. 2 in his famous book African Rifles and Cartridges "This was a very fine cartridge.....It never got the chance to win the popularity it undoubtedly deserved, because the .375 appeared too soon after it's introduction. It was an extremely satifactory cartridge and a splendid killer".
