This model 1877 "Lightning" is marked on the back-strap with American Express Company and rack number (see photos).Colt 1877 revolvers are notorious for not functioning properly due to a complicated mechanism and weak parts. This revolver does function in single and double action rigth now but is not guaranteed to do so for any length of time.
