I have a very nice Model 1886 made in 1895 (serial #953XX). It started out a .40-65 WCF, and has been re-chambered to .45-70. It has a 22" octagon barrel and half magazine. The bore is in very good shape.
I had the case hardening redone this year and turned out beautiful and really gives this gun great eye appeal. I believe all the parts are original and the gun has not been mechanically restored. The workings of the gun are in great shape and the mechanics are tight and crisp. The barrel markings are clear and so are the patent markings on the bottom of the receiver and model number on tang is clear as well. The serial number is also clear and it letters with the Cody museum. This gun will look great on the mantle and you can take it out and hunt with confidence. It always turns heads at the gun range. This fine looking shooter needs a good home. Write me with any questions you might have.
