Description:
Serial #1074, 11mm Mauser, 31 1/2" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is an 1887 dated rifle that has all matching numbers and has a mellow plum-brown patina on the barrel and receiver that carries over onto the bolt as well. There are scattered specks of mild freckling present in the metal, but these are minor. The wood is in very good plus condition with numerous handling marks and blemishes in the added military oil finish, but the cartouches are still crisp and clear. The buttplate tang is unit marked: "B12R/14/30" (12th Bavarian Reserve Infantry Regiment). The rifle is fitted with a modern made, correct leather sling that is in fine, little used condition. This is a very nice, shootable '71/84, with a rare and highly desirable Bavarian unit marking. Antique
