Description:
Serial #34164, .36 caliber, 7 1/2? octagon barrel with a very good bore that has some dark freckling within the grooves, heaviest towards the breech. This is an 1855 manufactured, ?LONDON? marked revolver that has all matching numbers, including the wedge (the spring clip is broken), and cylinder arbor. This revolver has been almost fully restored and now has bright blue along the barrel and cylinder, which has a still clear naval scene remaining that is fully visible, but with a few faint areas here and there. The frame is likewise has bright color case-hardening added which continues onto the loading lever as well. The trigger guard and gripstrap have been reblued but have since turned a purple-brown color over time. The lock-up is still tight and the mechanism functions flawlessly. The revolver is housed in an antique but non-original wooden case that has added English style partitions lined with old green baize and contains a small original Colt pistol flask, Colt .36 caliber double cavity bullet mould, original tin of Eley caps, and a nipple wrench. This is a truly handsome London Model 1851 Navy that looks great and has a lot of original accessories. Antique
