Description:
Serial #22812, 7.65mm Mauser, 29? barrel with a fine, bright bore that has some trace freckling within the grooves. This is a very seldom seen rifle that has mixed numbered parts with crisp, clear receiver marking and no import stamps. The barrel retains 90% of the original blue with the receiver, originally finished armory bright, having a dull gray pewter colored patina with smooth, even, dark plum-brown freckling throughout. The bolt has a matching gray-brown patina and the trigger guard/floorplate assembly has original blue that fades to pale brown along the edges and exterior of the trigger guard bow. This repeats on the remaining stock furniture, but the barrel band spring retainer does have some moderate pitting at the base. The walnut stock with crisp Mauser banner stamp on the right side of the buttstock has scattered minor handling marks and small surface blemishes in the original finish. The rifle comes with an original metal cleaning rod and is a fine example of a rare Peruvian Mauser. FFL or C&R
