Condition:excellent,collectible,99.9% original bluing,working mechanics, lens with no scratches-sharp view,not typical for 100 or more years scope.(I think was made between 1900-1925) Dr.Carl Leiss produced optic instruments,binoculars and rifle scopes in Germany(Berlin-Steigltz)prior to World War I for use on sporting,huntig rifles.With the onset of the war, Carl Leiss scopes, along with many other previously manufactured sporting rifle scopes, were adapted by the German Army for use on their Scharfschutzen-Gewehr 98 Sniping Rifles. All Carl Leiss scopes are scarce in the USA. Reticle German #1 Lunar Magnification 4 X Luminosity 42 Length 270 mm Main tube diameter 21.70 mm Eye tube diameter 30 mm Objective tube diameter 30.00 mm Distance between front and rear claw mounts 88.40 mm Hubertus Leather Quiver has stamp inside 1901.Condition from poor to good,because missing threads on part of cover,need small repair.But can used without repair.Look on photos.
