#2163, William Evans (From Purdey's) 63 Pall Mall, St. James's, London: An Evans Boxlock Extractor 28 Bore Game Gun with 26" Modern English Sleeved Dovetail Lump Barrels with a rib extension Dolls Head Third Bite, Webley turn screw action, Birmingham Nitro Proved at 3 tons with 2 1/2" chambers, The bores at .547 .000 & .017" (Cyl. & Imp.Mod.), 2 1/2" chambers, Wall thickness on the right at .031" and the left at .029", Bushed strikers, Double triggers, Splinter forend with an Anson release, Straight hand stock at 14 9/16 x 1 3/8 x 2 1/8" over a checkered butt, Cast-Off for the right hand, Only 4 lbs. 15 oz., Border engraving only, No case colors remain, The barrel blue at 94%, Sharp barrel striking, The buttstock and forend remain at 88% with typical handling marks, The checkering remains at 95%, The wood is very stout both fore & aft, The bores are excellent plus as sleeved with the new barrels.
