Description:
SAVAGE MODEL 99 LIGHTWEIGHT TAKEDOWN RIFLE serial number 252xxx in .250-3000 with a bright excellent bore. The metal surfaces on this fine old Savage retain 98% of the original factory blue with just some light handling wear evident. The lever too is very sharp exhibiting 92%+ original vibrant case coloring with graying on the very lower edges. The smooth walnut stocks are correctly numbered to the gun with the buttstock retaining almost all of the original finish with perhaps a few spots of later touch up. The forend is very good but appears to have been overcoated at some time in the distant past and exhibits a small area of flaking. There is a small chip missing on the inside left of the forearm visible only from the top. The correct serrated steel buttplate with that great Savage logo is present.
