Description:
FINISH: This wonderful revolver S58806A was beautifully prepared at Colt's Manufacturing Co. This masterpiece was richly plated with fine nickel.
ENGRAVING: After this colt left the factory, Colt contract engraver Jerome Harper has given this colt a very generous coverage of C++ with a few special touches. The engraving pattern is in the style of Cuno Helfricht. Mr. Harper has fully covered the front sight, the hammer, and the inside of the loading gate. Take note of the special engraving on the hammer. Superbly detailed lavish scroll and fine linework are evident on all areas of the surface of this masterpiece. Jerome has signed it in three different locations. Once with initials beneath the ejector tube, once again on the rear of the cylander between the chambers and lastly on the right side of the backstrap beneath the ivory grips.
GRIPS: The grips are made from genuine African elephant ivory. This Pair shows very fine color and grain pattern. They were hand selected and fitted by the same grip fitter that is utilized by The Colt Custom Shop. The configuration on this gun is the one-piece configuration.
CONCLUSION: Creating a fresh and new firearm, previously unknown to the collecting fraternity is one of the most exciting events in the challenging and captivating field for the arms engraver and the collector alike. When a masterpiece with the quality and style as that of S58806A is completed it is an important event.
