Description: Parker VH 28 Gauge SxS Shotgun "OO" FRAME, AS NEW, 100% TURNBULL GUN General Specs: Parker, Year 1919, 28 Gauge, 5lbs 7oz, Side by Side Serial Number: 184354 In the world of Parkers the 28 gauge is the Holy Grail. In fact, when considering any vintage American double gun, the 28ga. is the most desirable as only Parker and Ithaca made guns in this diminutive gauge. I believe there are more shooters searching for the 28ga. than the .410 because the 28 ga. is so much more capable when chasing upland birds and game. Only 1411 28ga. VH grade Parkers were produced, with at least 1/3 of them being made on the 20ga. or "O" frame and hence heavy and less desirable. So, less than 1000 guns on the "OO" frame makes this a rare gun. Most in the Parker world are aware of the reputation garnered by Doug Turnbull Restorations as the premier restoration artist when it comes to Parker guns, and his organization restored this gun in its entirety. This fine Parker, sn184344 made in 1919 is 100% new in every way, inside and out. Weighing 5lbs. 7oz. with its 26" barrels it is a delight in hand. There are no flaws to be found in this gun; mirror bores, 100% wood and metal finishes, perfect screws, perfect wood to metal fit, perfect mechanics including tight as new on hinge and breech face. Nice stock dimensions too with 14 1/4" LOP to Dogs Head butt plate, 2 3/4" DAH, 1 1/2" DAC, neutral cast. The cost of this restoration in today's world exceeds $5000 and there is over 1 year wait for the work to be done. This gun is as good as it gets and will always be a liquid investment quality firearm.
