Most double gun enthusiasts are well aware of the reputation earned by the Winchester Model 21; a gun of far superior strength and mechanical genius that was under the micro management of John Olin himself. With only 32,000 produced (compared to 250,000 Parkers!), any high condition, original Model 21 is a valuable, investment quality firearm sure to appreciate as you enjoy its use. It is also well known that guns produced in the Custom Shop were the best of the best Model 21's ever produced. Winchester condensed its operations into one shop beginning in 1960...The Custom Shop. Manned by the most experienced craftsman employed by Winchester an average of 25 years prior, with and average age of 55 years old, these men were serious about their job and the finest of details. This gun, sn28221 produced in 1965, shows this workmanship with jeweled barrel flats, water table, forend iron, and breech face; superb wood to metal fit, crisp triggers and ejectors, the finest polish on the metal prior to finishing...a masterpiece Olin would be proud of. The factory letter details the gun to a "T" with the exception of the LOP being lengthened by the addition of the Winchester pad. The metal finishes are factory original and 99.5%, wood is about 99%, mechanics and bores are perfect. Engraved in the #1 pattern, Custom Grade checkering with ebony inlay in forend on "FULL FANCY" wood, nice shooting dimensions, this is one beautiful gun. They only made about 200 of these guns, so don't hesitate or you will miss out on this fine shooting classic.
