Description:
An unusual and rare Mogul fighting shield with ornate hand chiseled designs and the center has the Maharajah portrait in the center, and scenes with Kali the Goddess of Destruction and Durga the Goddess of War., Hanuman the Monkey King, and a Tiger Killing and Elephant, with the edges having panels of early India sand script writing. The diameter of this iron shield is about 17 1/2" and the back side has the holding strap rings usually strung with leather straps and an old velvet pad to protect the arm from bruising with sword blows from an enemy. One front rosette is missing from battle use but another one can be made. It's rare to find these in the West, as this one came from a Maharajah Indian fortress. Check my other early weapons listed.
