Description:
Serial #7691, .280 Ross, 26" barrel with a good bore with worn rifling. This is a nice rifle that retains 70-75% of the original blue that has silvered lightly along the raised edges, projections, and bearing surfaces. Additionally, there is mild plum-brown freckling and gray fading on the front and rear sight bases, breech area of the barrel, bolt, and triggerguard, and a small import mark on the underside of the barrel just ahead of the forend. The rifle is outfitted with a sporting bead front sight and single 500 meter flip-up leaf rear barrel sight. The checkered walnut stock has numerous small handling marks and minor blemishes throughout as well as some flattening of the points and some minor surface scratches on the hard rubber pistol grip cap. Interestingly, a period sling eye is present on the forend but the buttstock has never had one installed. This is a very nice high grade Ross sporter and is in very good plus-fine condition overall. Been test fired and bullets hit the target sideways at 50 yds. FFL or C&R
