Description:
PENDING SALE-This is a like-new A-Square Hamilcar rifle. It is built on a pre-64 Winchester Model 70 G-Series action, and is chambered in the versatile 338-06 caliber. The cartridge uses the 30-06 case, but is opened up to 338 caliber to handle the heavier bullet weights needed for Moose, Elk, and Bear.
The Coil-Chek stock designed by Col. Art Alpin is very effective in mitigating the recoil of heavy-hitting calibers. With a straight stock, rounded comb, and a recoil pad with a large surface area, this rifle feels like a 308 even when shooting 250gr loads.
The LOP on this rifle is about 13 1/2" with the current recoil pad, with a weight of 8.6 lbs and a barrel length of 23".
This rifle was ordered with the Appearance Package, which adds upgraded wood, polished and blued metalwork, and an ebony forend cap.
The sale of the rifle will include rings and bases, Pachmyer snap-in swivels, and the balance of the ammunition I have left.
