Description:
Serial #C3824, 7mm Mauser, 29 1/2" barrel with a fine, bright bore that has some minor freckling within the grooves. This rifle has 90% of the original blue remaining on the metal with some mild fading at the muzzle as well as on the exposed edges and projections. There are small scattered spots of freckling around the Chilean crest on the receiver as well as on the brightly finished, non-matching, bent-handled bolt. The bolt itself has mild areas of freckling and small spots of pitting along the bolt body and handle. The matching walnut stock is in fine condition with minor handling marks and small surface blemishes scattered about the original oil finish and a crisp Chilean acceptance stamp on the left side of the buttstock. This is a very nice example of a Chilean 1895 rifle and is in very good-fine condition overall.
