Description:
Serial #(00) 1008378, 6.5mm Arisaka, 31 1/4" barrel with a very good bore that has some dark freckling within the grooves. This is an original rifle that was removed from military inventory for drill use by students before and during World War II. The rifle has a ground mum but the top of the Kanji 'School" character is still visible and the distinctive double "0" prefix is present on the left side of the receiver. The metal retains 90-95% of the original blue with gray fading at the muzzle and along the exposed edges and projections. The mixed number bolt has an armory bright finish along the body with some freckling along the bolt handle. The stock is not duffel-cut and has several small handling marks and minor surface blemishes throughout the nicely executed armory reapplied varnish. A rack or inventory number is present on the left side of the butt: "228"; and a second number is stamped on the right: "36". The rifle is missing the cleaning rod but is in fine condition nevertheless. FFL or C&R
