Description:
Abbiatico & Salvinelli .410 Bore SxS Shotgun - CASED
1978 VINTAGE, GALEAZZI ENGRAVED, 99%

General Specs: Abbiatico & Salvinelli, Year 1978, .410b, 5lbs 4oz, Side by Side
Serial Number: 200

What a fantastic work of art this gun is!  Built in 1978 when Mario Abbiatico was still at the helm and running the ship, most are aware that this was the time period when some of their finest shotguns were produced, before the expansion in the 2000's.  Mario passed away in 1984 and with his passing his irreplaceable genius.  Most truly knowledgeable fine shotgun experts acknowledge Abbiatico & Salvinelli (A & S) guns from this period as the finest 7 pin sidelock shotguns ever made, with chopper lump barrels, meticulous polishing and fitting internally, perfect wood to metal fit and 32 lpi checkering, and of course that engraving!  A & S are often credited with establishing the Italian engravers and the art of bulino style engraving as the pinnacle of the engraver's world.  This gun was engraved by Galeazzi, certainly one of the 3 best engravers the world has ever seen and some of his best work ever seen.  There is no wear on this gun, with 99% blue and factory finish overall, weighing just 5 1/4lbs. and balanced dead on the hinge pin, single non-selective trigger, perfect mechanicals, perfect screws,  and nearly new in all ways with the leather trunk style case.  The gun is priced to sell, and in .410 bore with the Galeazzi engraving, it is a very solid investment quality gun that will be a pleasure to shoot at game or targets.
