Description:
GunsInternational provided an appraisal of this gun.  All of their description is included in the following with their estimate of value, and with some additional comments by the seller:

Mauser was a German arms manufacturer of a line of bolt action rifles and semi-automatic
pistols from the 1870s to 1995. Mauser designs were built for the German armed forces. Since the late
19th and early 20th centuries, military Mauser designs were also exported and licensed to a number of countries, as well as being a popular civilian firearm.
Condition: Good condition, but metal has been buffed and reblued. Wood has small chip on the left front side of the action
Complete Serial Number: 48285
Date of Manufacture: Would require inhand examination and removal of barreled action from stock.
Believed to be just post WWII
Finish: Blued Finish
Action Type: Single Shot Bolt Action
Caliber:
Barrel Length: 25”
Length of Pull: 14”
Specialty Features: Double set triggers, Adjustable rear sight, Stag horn grip cap
Comments: Rear dovetail sight is missing.  Could have been universal action as the adjustable rear sight on barrel is correct for that gun.  Includes original leather strap and newer leatherette case.  Front sight is not accurate, but two additional replacement front sights are included.  Gun seems clearly tapped for mounting scope.
Estimated Value: $395
