Griffin & Howe (G & H) is world famous for building custom firearms with special details since 1927. In 1999, G & H contracted with the venerable firm Renato Gamba in Brescia, Italy to build a high quality over/under shotgun with a Boss style action/lock up and a drop out trigger group they labeled the "Claremont". These were target oriented guns that were built for high volume shooting...well balanced and strong forged steel frames precision built in the finest Italian gunmaking tradition. This MATCHED PAIR was custom built for a client with upgraded wood and a beautiful Italian leather motor case (case and cover are worth about $1800 used). Most are aware of the difficulty in building a true matched pair, with identical dimensions, weight, and balance points, and hence the 25% added charge to the cost of the pair. This is a rare opportunity to own a true pair of heavy target/game guns. Here in the United States, competitive shooters are well advised to have a second gun, and a perfectly matched gun is the best way to accomplish this. And of course for driven shoots here and overseas, the matched pair of over/under guns is THE choice in today's world. For most, a matched pair of over/unders is cost prohibitive, but these guns are surprisingly affordable. This is a one time chance to finally own a true pair of over/under guns for the price of one.
