Made by Francotte in 1965, It has 26" Ejector Chopper Lump barrels with a hidden rib extension, 1/4 rib with 1 standing & 1 folding rear sight, The action body with bushed strikers, Bolstered shoulders, Extended top tang that goes over the comb, Double triggers with the front articulated, It has 2 retainer screws on key screws, 14 1/2" LOP over a 7/8" Silvers pad, 10 lbs. 8 oz., Super wood that is near exhibition, Trapdoor grip cap with 2 spare replaceable front sights, No sling eyes, Shadowline cheekpiece, It has 97% coverage of Interlace floral & scroll semi-deep relief engraving done by absolute one of Belgium's best ever engravers, Lyson Corombelle, It retains 99% original case colors, The original barrel blue at 97%, Original stock at 98%, The checkering at 99%, The bores are excellent plus with square rifling from throat to muzzle, It is smack on the face and remains as tight as new. The whole is cased in a very nice brass cornered Leather trunk. This piece is virtually as new and is a very high quality big game double rifle. ///////////////////////// The Corombelle family has a very long history in the art of gun engraving. Hyppolite Corombelle (1871-1943) engraved many of the highest grade Belgium guns to come out of that country. His daughter, Lyson Corombelle (1894-1971), literally grew up with a chisel in her hand. She worked with one of Browning's most famous engravers, Felix Funken. Her father started an engraving school in Bologna, Italy and lived there for some time. I have had my share of Corombelle engraved guns and she engraved best guns from Belgium regularly and recently we had a best Cordy O/U engraved by her. I recently encountered a superb best Francotte sidelock SxS that was made in the early 1960's that she engraved. She also engraved several Lebeau-Courally best guns.
