Browning Superposed Lightning 20 gauge O/U shotgun. Manufactured in 1962, well before the “salt gun” issues of the mid to late 60’s, this long tang round knob Superposed has 26 ½” barrels choked IC/M and measure .010” & .020” with mirror perfect bores and is factory chambered for 2 ¾” & 3” shells. There is approximately 90% original barrel blue. The action, trigger guard and forearm iron are more in the 60% range with considerable oxidation and surface rust on the bottom. I believe that the wood has been refinished..The grip area was made thinner and then re-checkered at some point years ago. The job was done professionally. A recoil pad was added bring the LOP to 14 5/16”. The DAC is 1 ½” and the DAH is 2 1/8” with a slight cast favoring a right hand shooter. It weighs a scant 5 lbs. 14 oz. Mechanically very sound and tight; ejectors are strong and in time and the top lever still right of center. With the Browning Superposed history of excellence you can expect this 20 gauge bird gun to working fine for many years to come.
