Description:
All right, I’m not 100% certain of who made this but…  16 gauge boxlock, extractor SxS shotgun with St. Etienne French proof marks for 65mm chambers.  There is a stamp of C-I-A on the barrel flats and on the water table of the action but I don’t think that stands for Century International Arms!  It could, but I don’t think so.  The only other identification is “Monte” engraved on the top lever!  Regardless this is a pretty well made, double trigger 16 ga. game gun, third fastener, with a factory beavertail forearm and a Prince of Wales pistol grip buttstock with a 14 5/8” LOP over a ½” presentation pad; 1 ½” DAC and 2 5/8” DAH.  The 27” solid rib barrels have had the chambers lengthened to 2 ¾” and the chokes are .010” and .020” with bright/excellent bores.  Weight is 5 lbs. 14 oz.  There some case colors remaining on the frame and some spots of surface rust.  The barrels are 80% blue with the color starting to “brown” and an assortment of surface rust spots.  The stock and forearm are showing a smattering of dings and handling marks but overall this gun looks pretty good.  Mechanically sound.  About 5# trigger pulls.  Looks to be the original ½” leather sling.  Great upland bird gun. Non-automatic safety.
