Colt guaranteed their single action revolvers for smokeless powder in 1900. This makes this pistol the last official year of the black powder frames. This Colt is very well cared for. There is no pitting or defects in the chambers or rifling. The rifling is bright and sharp. The action cocks correctly on all stops. The cylinder locks up tight and is in correct time. The grips are unserial numbered. They fit correctly and are of the correct style. Do believe the grips to be original to the pistol. The hard rubber grips show wear and use. There is no damage or cracks to the grips. The inside of the cylinder on the loading face there is the last three numbers of the pistol's serial number stamped on. The color cased finish is faded with clear color case in protected areas. The rest of the frame is silvery. The blued parts show about 75% of the original finish. The 4 and 3/4 inch barrel has the correct two line address on the top of the barrel. The front sight is correct and unaltered. The serial number is 189959. This is a really nice clean original Colt that has been well cared for. Being the last year of the black powder frames makes this pistol unique to a collector. The pistols condition also adds to the desirability of this Colt. There were 29812 32 W.C.F. Colts chambered in the first generation models. Most of them saw hard service.
