Description:
This A.H. Fox shotgun is actually serial number 29... the twenty ninth gun made in the very first days/weeks of production.  We can be quite sure that Ansley had his hands on this gun!!  This is the earliest A.H. Fox serial number that I have ever seen AND it is in the handsome C grade.

**********Please contact me for an article of this fine Fox's provenance recently published in the A.H. Fox Collectors Association newsletter.*****

This gun is very tight and mechanically sound... a testimonial to the wonderful Fox design. Gorgeous walnut stock & forend with strong grain, color and figure.  Leather-faced buttpad has be replaced but it was done long ago. Checkering is sharp and appears nicely recut.
Excellent dimensions 14 3/8" LOP
1 1/2" DAC  2 3/8" DAH.

This gun is treated to the earliest style of C engraving which is nearly all flowing scrollwork. Dog on bottom, birds on breechballs and trigger bow. Engraving remains sharp and clear.

This gun has 30" Krupp steel barrels. This barrels are in perfect condition inside and out. No dings, dents or pitting.
RT  731 bore  44k choke  36kMWT
LFT 732 bore  42k choke  37kMWT
Barrels ring true. 96% deep rich blue. Engraving wedges at breech.

Double triggers are both crisp, extractors (this gun made before auto-ejectors on a Fox) non-automatic safety.

This is a historically significant Fox by virtue of it's low low serial number and is ready to be enjoyed at the traps or afield. A wonderful unmolested Fox.
