Sharps Buffalo Rifle Mecham Conversion Montana Gun 45-70 cal Bore VG plus, Mech VG plus, has working double set triggers. Original wood VG plus, The forarm is worn and has a short crack at the tip where there is 4 notches . Has a 30” Oct barrel with original sights Rocky mountain front sight and Lawrence marked rear sight, Old Reliable and Sharps Address markings. The receiver has the sharps patent date markings on the left side and the right side lockplate has the sharps patent date markings. Also has the cal 45 2 ½ marking on the left side of the barrel just ahead of the receiver. Serial#47929 matching . Metal overall has a dark aged patina finish with fine pitting and surface rust in areas. Used but not abused. Originally purchased from a Montana family.
