#4258 Winchester 1886 OBFMCB, 51XXX range and in the extremely desirable 50EX (50/110) caliber and having excellent tight action and a very fine to near excellent bore, at least a 8+ on a scale of 10; just some light leading in the grooves. Factory letter indicates shipment in Jan 1891, standard trigger, standard sights, 50EX, and just a standard Sporting Rifle. The exterior is as good as the interior and it retains at least 95% coverage of a 95% density fine deep blue on the barrel and tube. The frame case hardening unfortunately has faded out with only faint traces at the rear of the frame and on the hammer, the rest being a thin silvery-brown patina. Wood is Fine, no slivers and having no serious blems of mention, but showing some sweat and oil staining to the wrist and forearm. A very superior rifle in the most coveted of calibers. The 50-Express is the '86 collectors ultimate caliber and the chiropractors dream gun. Hot load this puppy and you’ll probably need a season pass to the local hospitals Orthopedic ward and a local massage parlor!! The Cody Firearms Museum letter is included in the price, of course.
