Description: This P. 38 holster is one of 5 known and is described and pictured on page 81 of Bender's book. "Military Holsters of WWII". This example does not have a maker's name or mark. The Navy number on this piece is "41178", otherwise this holster has identical markings and was evidently unknown to Eugene Bender when he wrote his book. This holster was purchased in 1992 from the Canadian Army Captain, Claude Langlois who purchased this piece in Germany in 1970. Note the 1st printing of the Bender book was in 1984. Claude Langlois is now a dealer in military and Nazi items. The holster has had the belt loops replaced and the stiching on the locking loop replaced. See also "Axis Pistols" Still at page 189.
