This revolver was made in 1855 and has all-matching numbers on the frame, barrel, cylinder, arbor, wedge, triggerguard, and backstrap. The metal has an overall mixed gray and plum-brown patina with smooth mottling throughout, but does have some minor pitting on the rear of the cylinder and some impact marks and scratches as well. The cylinder retains virtually all of the stagecoach scene with crisp and well-defined lines and markings. The brass has a dull yellow-ochre where it has worn throught the original plated finish on the gripstraps and the one-piece grip has numerous small handling marks and blemishes, as well as a triangular-shaped spot of wear at the butt on the left side. The lock-up is still tight with a fully functional mechanism and the revolver rates very good plus overall; a nice example of a '49 Pocket.
