Description:
Serial #MU17138, .380 ACP, 2 3/4? barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a Mk. IV/Series '80 pistol that has full coverage floral scrollwork engraving that even extends onto the bottom half of the magazine as well. The only components not engraved are the hammer, rear sight, and trigger. The wide grips are genuine ivory and feature deep relief engraving of the Rampant Colt on both sides; each of them bordered by further scroll filigree top and bottom, and highlighted by 24 kt gold leaf on the lances and globes. The pistol is signed by Mr. Harper under the grip on the right side. The grips are by Nutmeg Sports and there is a letter from Jim Alaimo, former Colt Custom Shop Superintendent, attesting to the grips having been fashioned from ivory imported prior to 1989. The pistol comes with a correct Colt shipping box (not original to this pistol) with original grips inside and a black gun rug. This is an unbelievably embellished small frame Colt Auto, in superb condition, that was worked on by one of Colt's best known master engravers. FFL
