Description:
Serial #750, 8.15x46mm, 29 1/2? barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a very handsome rifle that retains about 97-98% of the original blue that has silvered slightly at the muzzle and on some of the projecting edges and surfaces. The unnumbered bolt retains its original armory bright finish as well with some mild freckling starting to appear along the handle and knob. The remaining furniture is in matching, excellent condition, although the cleaning rod does have even pinprick pitting at the head. The walnut stock has an excellent original finish with some scattered minor bruises and marks along either side of the buttstock. The stock was duffel-cut when it was brought to the U.S. and was never glued together (we have left it that way) and there is a stylized ?2? engraved on the stock disk on the right side. It should be noted that the previous owner shot the rifle with the stock as-is and had no difficulties. These rifles were used for target competitions that stipulated a service pattern rifle but were chambered in the low power 8.15x46mm cartridge. The most common variants were single shot models but some were made with magazines as this example was. They are very pleasant rifles to shoot and had, quite naturally, a reputation for fine accuracy. This example is in fine overall condition and would make a fine addition to a collection. FFL or C&R
