Description:
Serial #89360, .455 Webley, 5 1/2” barrel with a fine, bright bore that has traces of freckling within the grooves. This is a handsome, 1915-made revolver that has retained 90-92% of the original bright blue finish that has faded to a lightly mottled gray at the muzzle, on the high edges and projections, and in spots along the rear of the cylinder. Additional small impact marks can be seen along the sides of the barrel and frame as well. Extensive Birmingham commercial proofs are present on the revolver in addition to the older British military stamps and acceptance markings, while the trigger and hammer retain a commensurate amount of the original blue and the black hard rubber Colt grips are in very good shape with some scattered spots of wear and some mild flattening of the points. A small chip is missing from the toe of the butt on the left panel as well. The mechanism is tight and functions flawlessly and the revolver rates very good plus-near fine condition overall; a very nice large frame Colt with British markings. FFL or C&R
