Description:
Serial #6358, 8mm Pinfire, 3 1/4” octagon barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a very interesting folding trigger pocket revolver that has a spurless hammer and very neat saw-handle grips that have a pronounced knuckle on the backstrap and attractive scalloped butt profile. The metal has traces of the original blue remaining on some of the protected areas of the “INVON. E. LEFAUCHEUX BRTE. PARIS” marked barrel but the majority of the metal has turned to a lightly mottled, smooth gray patina. The breech end of the barrel, cylinder, and frame have nicely executed ivy motif engraving and traces of the original color case-hardening can be seen on the sides of the hammer and on the rear portion of the frame. The smooth walnut grips are in fine shape and have light wear along the edges as well as some small handling marks and minor surface blemishes in the original oil finish. The mechanism is tight, functions flawlessly, and the revolver rates fine condition overall. Antique
