Description:
Serial #66L2140, .303 British, 25? barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This Long Branch-made, 1944 dated rifle has retained about 90-92% of the black, ROF-added Suncorite finish that has flaked lightly along the high edges and projections revealing blue and plum-brown underlying metal. The matching numbered bolt has a pewter gray patina along the body with Suncorite still present along the handle and on the wide safety lug. The original Long Branch markings have been augmented with 1951 dated Fazakerly FTR refurbish markings and Birmingham commercial proofs at the muzzle, but there are no import marks present. The forend and handguards have been arsenal refinished to fine condition with only minor handling marks and small surface blemishes marring the otherwise fine armory added finish and the buttstock has two very minor resin filled bruises on the left side. A single matching numbered magazine is included. This is a handsome, Canadian-made World War II rifle that was reconditioned in time for service in Korea and rates fine condition overall. {Ref.
