Description:
S# 27815, 32-40, 26 inch barrel, good bore with strong rifling, showing even light erosion though out. This marlin was built around 1908 (estimated) and remains in very good condition with 80% blue on barrel, mag tube and frame. Lever and hammer show strong traces of case colors. Wood has a tiny 1/2 inch long crack behind lower tang, a little oil was wiped on long ago. Butplate has a brown patina. Rifle wears original sights, barrel is marked "For Black Powder" and receiver is stamped "Marlin Safety". A very nice 1893 Marlin in a black powder cartridge with lots of blue on the receiver.
