Description:
A Holland ready for many future years afield, this one was re-proofed in London in 1994, and is as tight and clean as it would have been upon submission for proof. Spotless bores are marked 15.6 and both measure .614. Chambers were proofed at 70mm, so it is capable of accepting 2 3/4" shells. Minimum measured wall thickness is .045 - either barrel, and wall concentricity is exceptional, varying by .007/.008 until they start to thicken toward the breeches. Sometime in the past, the gun was restocked by a true craftsman, and the new wood is exquisite, with elegant figure, meticulous checkering and an exceptional leather-covered recoil pad. The barrel markings, pins and engraving are crisp, and the pins all are nitre blued. It's cased in a leather and brass Holland case with oil bottle, cleaning rod and snap caps included (all modern). Now priced in the same range as many modern Holland copies.

Metal Condition: Barrel black is deep and rich with sharp lettering on the barrels. Action is greyed over the years, but the engraving is still crisp and clean.
Wood Condition: Beautifully stocked with an exceptional piece of walnut. Checkering is exceptional.
Bore Condition: Bright and shiny with no signs of pitting.
