CIVIL WAR SPENCER MODEL 1860 .52 RF CAL. CARBINE IN THE 2ND NEW YORK CAVALRY SERIAL RANGE. 22” barrel. Only a few numbers from a documented New York Cavalry Spencer. 100% original with no post Civil War alterations. Very good overall with the original dark metal patina mixed with some minor salt and pepper and old surface crud that should clean nicely. Very good stock and forend with the original patinated finish. Faint remnant of the border of the cartouche. Civil War era old owner’s initials carved on right butt. Working order and good bore that will clean better. War used and very hard to find.
