James Kirk, of Glasgow Scotland, may not be a name that snaps immediately to mind but this maker was responsible for making fine shotguns. This gun is a boxlock ejector model in 16 gauge with 70mm chambers ( 2 ¾”) proofed in 1990, originally a 2 ½” chamber at 1 oz. The 26” barrels are choked Cylinder and IC (.010) with a bore of .658 and nominal wall thicknesses of .028. Restocked in highly figured American Walnut with an LOP of 14 7/8” over a ½” pad; 1 ½” DAC & 2 3/8” DAH with significant right hand cast of 3/8” at the heel an ½” at the toe. Double triggers, maker’s leather luggage case, 6 lbs, 7 oz. The gun retains about 70% original colors and 97% blue. Great bird gun.
