Stock and mechanism :


Quite special and unique system with 2 sidelocks one each side, for the 4 barrels, totaling 4 sidelocks.
Rocker table 43mm - rear decks with 2 dogs on each side without clearance axles - security left side with a spring in the side lock - double trigger with set trigger on each - back button for selecting shots - four loading indicators - horn trigger case - steel plate at the handle - semi skeleton plate with finely engraved layer - luxury wooden pistol stock - flat cheek - ramp door and cartridges reserve carved with deer head and ornament - engravings with hunting scenes, wild boar and dog on then left, red deer on the right, relief backdrop - flowers ornament intaglio with lined bottom - all very neat.
Matching fore-end, grid plate and closure bucket.

Barrels :
Length 640mm (25.2") Krupp steel, tin welded - straight strip with doll head gold guilloche and golden registration AFW TIMNER-COBLENZ – Tubes in cross : 20 gauge side by side and over and under 9.3x72R - one piece extractor - hook two clamps – rising rear sight  - clip welded to lower barrel - drilling left 15.9-15.3 and right 15.9-15.1.

Origin :
According to a punch on the rocker, the weapon was manufactured by Gebrüder Merkel Suhl in the period from 1903 to 1902, probably before 1908.
