Description:
U.S. Model 1911 Colt Pistol with Savage Slide, serial # 5343xx, cal. 45 ACP, with a 5” barrel and a very good bore which shows minor frosting primarily within the grooves. The pistol slide is a scarce Savage manufactured slide and appears as if it may have been redipped at some point and retains about 70% blue. The Colt frame is primarily a pewter gunmetal gray and faded brown patina with some minor oxidation staining. The diamond-checkered walnut grips are more contemporary replacements. The barrel is Colt manufactured and stamped Colt 45 Auto, the magazine features an all blue body, rounded follower and is lanyard-loop equipped, marked only “.45 Auto” on its base. This Colt overall as described is a good example of a mis-matched 1911 pistol that’s in good – good plus condition. (C&R) Inv.: # 1-1231
