SPRINGFIELD KRAG PHILIPPINE CONSTABULARY MODEL 1899 CARBINE. .30-40 Krag caliber 22” barrel with muzzle turned for the Model 1905 U.S. knife Bayonet. Original example as altered by the U.S. in the early 1900”s for use by the Philippine Constabulary during the occupation period after the Spanish American War. Metal with the original patina mixed with 70-80% blue. Original stock and handguard with the original nicely patinated finish. “LSA/1907” inspectors cartouche on left side of stock which is original but has been refreshed. Handguard with minor hairline crack behind the rear sight. Working order and very good bore. Original correctly altered Model 1899 Carbine showing proper aging is the correct areas and having all the right parts which show the same untouched patina. Excellent old collection provenance.
