Description:
This Colt was produced in 1914. The factory letter states that this pistol was sent to Montgomery Ward and Co. at Kansas City Missouri on November 17th, 1914. There were two guns in that shipment. This pistol was sent back to Colt in the late 1930's for restoration work. The hammer is the correct hammer for 1914. The magazine is a military two tone magazine having the correct lanyard staple on the bottom floor plate. The style of this magazine is correct for 1914 pistols. The grips are original Colt grips showing the same condition as the rest of the pistol. This is a real pretty pistol that shows well. The good thing that still allows this pistol to be very collectable is the fact that Colt did the correct repairs and refinish. This pistol shows no sign of being used after the pistol was sent back from repairs. I do feel that this Colt has real collector value for a collector due to it's condition and the fact that Colt was the one that did the work to restore this pistol to 1914 standard. These early Commercial pre World War One Colts are highly collectable and very hard to find in nice clean condition. Search for Harry Viezens on google.
