SIMSON-74-E, SxS Collector Shotgun, SR # 781503 - Purchased in Germany and hand-carried to the US in 1974; Test fired once and never again; has been in safe keeping for 40 years in Mint condition. Simson & Co. made very high quality shotguns from 1856 - 2003 in the East German city of SUHL, where some of the finest German hunting weapons are manufactur

Gauge: 12 w/ejectors; Shells: 2¾ long (70mm); Barrels: 28" solid rib, (R) Half-choke (L) Full-choke; Barrels have the GDR ( East German) & "Special Gewehr Lauf Stahl" Markings, which is a special steel developed by Freiderich Krupp in the 1880's in the Ruhr Valley of Germany and used only on very "high end" weapons. Action: Anson & Deely w/ Greener Lock. Triggers: Dbl; Front: fires both barrels, Rear: fires left.  Safety: Auto lock of triggers and trigger rods. Stock: Fine walnut w/ cheek piece & pistol grip with engraved silver cap.  Engraving: Arabesque Hunting scene. Manufactured: 8/1982.
