Charles Ingram Hammer Toplever Sidelock Double Rifle, .500 BPE, 28" fluid steel barrels engraved "Chas. Ingram" on the left barrel and "18 B Renfield St. Glasgow" on the right barrel, barrel flats have London black powder proof marks, barrels have a wide flat file cut rib with two folding and one standing rear sight leaves marked "100, 200, and 300", front sight is a 3/4" long post, 14 1/8" LOP over a 3/4" leather covered pad, 8 lbs. 12 oz., extractor, double triggers, pistol grip with a horn grip cap, backaction island sidelocks with fine scroll engraving and engraved "Chas. Ingram" on both sides, dolls head rib extension 3rd bite, A&D push button forend release, pleasing English walnut with cheeckpiece, butt has vacant oval and old style sling eye, front sling eye mounted underneath barrels. Excellent condition gun with refreshed finishes on wood and barrels, great bores and tight action with hinge pin having recently been replaced by John Foster in England. Comes in period leather case with a replacement maker's label and the all having been relined and refitted to this rifle as well as outfitted with accessories.  Ingram's records are non-existent so we can not accurately date the rifle but is likely circa 1890's.
